Sale! Made by the Fujigen factory in 1989, the ST72-65 was a scalloped offering from Fender Japan and was typically considered to be an unofficial “Blackmore” signature model. Aged white finish on a basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a shallow scalloped rosewood fingerboard (7.25″ radius), it weighs just under 4kg’s. Loaded with an aftermarket set of Dimarzio single coils and a 3-way switch (for the Malmsteen sound) along with a replacement bridge and Gotoh locking tuners.
Good vintage condition as pictured with some wear and tear. The skunk stripe has a small amount of separation along the seam which has cracked the clear coat slightly, nothing structural and not uncomfortable to play. The finish also seems to have been sanded back at some point so it’s satin smooth in spots. The neck is straight and the truss works perfectly, the frets are shiny and smooth with plenty of life left.
