1989 Fender Japan “HM Strat” (Refinished Metallic Blue)

Made in Japan in the late 80’s, the original “HM Strat” series were an iconic series of “Heavy Metal” Stratocasters that were so popular that they were reissued in recent years. Originally wearing a “Flash Pink” finish, this one was refinished by a previous owner in a metallic dark blue (although the original finish is still visible underneath and might be able to be recovered).

Solid basswood body with a contoured four-bolt cutaway, maple neck with a 24 fret rosewood fingerboard (17″ radius, 25″ scale length), it weighs 3.6kg’s. Loaded with Fender Hot Rod/Dragster HSS pickups, Gotoh tuners and a Kahler Spyder tremolo system, all serviced and working well.

Good used condition as pictured, given a full professional setup and service prior to listing. The neck is straight and plays smoothly and the frets are shiny with plenty of life. The headstock logo was previously rubbed off but the shadow is still visible in certain light.
