1982 Tokai Japan PB-80 Hard Puncher 50’s Reissue Precision Bass (Candy Apple Red)

Highly regarded in the world of Japanese vintage guitars, the Hard Puncher series from Tokai were a very impressive range of Fender P style basses built to a very high standard.

The PB-80 from 1982 was a high end ’52 reissue Precision Bass model. It features a metallic Candy Apple Red finish on an alder body with a vintage U profile on the maple neck (20 frets, 43mm nut width), weighs 4.3kg’s. Has two replacement knobs otherwise appears to be all original.

Given a deep clean and professional setup prior to listing, the neck is straight and the truss was adjusted. The frets have some signs of wear and pitting but were polished and they play well.
