1980’s ESP Japan Custom Order SEC Series Stratocaster (Black)

Made in Japan in the late 1980’s, this appears to be one of ESP’s Custom Series models ordered either by a store or to a customers specs.

Solid alder body with a “Square Edge” (Dinky style) shape bolted to a lightly glossy maple neck with a 22 fret maple fingerboard and the highly desirable Fender style headstock, it weighs 3.6kg’s. Loaded with a Dimarzio Hot Rail in the neck and a FRED in the bridge position controlled by a 3-way blade selector and master volume/tone controls with a coil split push pull pot.

Good vintage condition as pictured with light signs of wear and tear from general use, given a full setup and service prior to listing. The neck is straight and the truss works perfectly, the frets are shiny and smooth with some light wear but plenty of life left.
