1979 Tokai Japan SS-48 Silver Star Stratocaster (Three-Tone Sunburst)

Made in Japan in 1979, the SS-48 Silver Star was Tokais mid-range version of the CBS era Fender Stratocaster. Large headstock with the desirable Fender style headstock logo, bullet truss and tilt adjuster on a three-bolt neck plate, it weighs 3.4kgs. Sen ash body with a poly three-tone sunburst finish, one piece maple neck with a comfortable slim U profile (41mm nut width). Loaded with Tokai SS-SUPER alnico single coil pickups and 70’s style hardware, it looks to be all original.

Good overall vintage condition as pictured with only basic signs of wear and tear. Truss works well and the vintage frets are shiny and smooth with life left, given a full professional setup and service prior to listing. One tone pot is slightly temperamental but we’ve left it in to keep it original, easily replaced.
