Sale! Nicknamed the “Devil’s Head”, the Yamaha SX900A was the top-of-the-line model from the Yamaha SX series that can be seen as evil cousins of the famous SG range.
Made in Japan for only a few years in the mid 1970’s and sold almost exclusively within Japan, the SX900A features a solid mahogany body with a bound maple top set to a slim 60’s style mahogany neck with a 22 fret bound ebony fingerboard (42.5mm nut width, 648mm scale length) and weighs 3.5kg’s. This one appears all original with gold Yamaha branded hardware and a pair of Yamaha G1 humbuckers.
Good overall vintage condition with one notable ding on one of the horns of the headstock as pictured. No breaks or repairs to be seen, the neck is straight and the frets are shiny and smooth with a fully functional truss. Restrung and given a basic setup prior to listing, the electronics were flushed and are sounding great.
