1970’s Greco Japan RB Series Fretless 4001 (Transparent Red)

Made in Japan in the mid 1970’s, this looks to be a custom order or a limited run model with what looks to be a factory fretless fingerboard and a transparent red finish (rather than the tradition Fireglo or Natural finishes). Solid ash body with a neckthrough maple/walnut construction and a bound rosewood fingerboard (42mm nut width), it weighs 4kg’s.

Looks to be original with the classic pickup combination, Waffleback tuners and stereo outputs. Good vintage condition with some wear and tear but no breaks or repairs, the neck is straight and plays smoothly.
